Rooster Tail Engines Carburettor range!  Which one do I need?

We have a few different carburettors available, and this guide will help you to understand what upgrades are made to each carburettor and what performance gains to expect.

Bearing Mod - WT990

This carburettor is the most basic setup in our carburettor range.  The Bearing Mod was designed to primarily increase the longevity of your carburettor by installing sealed polyamide bearings on either side of the throttle shaft.

This helps to support the throttle shaft and seal the area from 99% of dust ingress.  

Material entering in this area causes excessive wear to the throttle shaft and throttle shaft bore.  As a result, the engine can suck in unmetered air causing a lean condition.  This also creates an entry path into the engine for foreign material (eg. dust and sand) which can cause premature engine wear or failure.

Competition Mod - WT990

The Competition Mod carburettor is a new addition to our range and fills the gap between the Bearing Mod and the Full Mod.

This Competition Mod carburettor is the same as the Bearing Mod carburettor as stated above, but also includes the addition of a lower pop-off pressure, with an increased closing pressure for faster response.  Also the fuel flow is increased.  This carburettor will give you a noticeable increase in performance across the entire rev range.

Full Mod - WT990

The Full Mod carburettor is our most popular carburettor, and for good reason.  It has had everything possible done to it, that can be done!

Taking my years of experience in high performance engine building and tuning with carburettor and fuel injection systems led me to develop a carburettor for our RC engines that not only featured all the enhancements listed above to increase longevity, deter engine failures through dirt/dust ingress, but also add performance!  Bolt on power!

With this carburettor you get an even stronger signal strength, a larger velocity stack and venturi.  This  increases cfm which produces more power.  The pop-off pressure is reduced a little further and the throttle shaft design is changed to improve support.

Full Mod - WT1107

The WT-1107 Full Mod carburettor was developed for the RTE 32cc & 34cc engines.

This carburettor receives the same overhaul as the Full Mod WT-990 with the exception of the larger velocity stack.
